Precision Glam Rock Collection for Fall 2008

Good morning, Dear Reader! Your Faithful Author slept in this morning, so I'm a little later than usual writing today's post. The good news is, I have lots and lots to post!

I came home yesterday to the Precision Glam Rock Collection. If you recall, that's the brand I fell in love with recently and was on the hunt for. Well, I found it! It turns out that my favorite seller on ebay, sparkling*nails, started carrying them, so I got the Fall Collection (amongst many other things you'll see this week). They applied like a dream, dried as shiny as can be, and are just thrilling. I'll get straight to the pics, which are of two coats in direct sunlight. They're in random order because I love all too much to put in any order. Oh, and the other bonus to them? They're 10% bigger than normal nail polish - they're .55 oz. So a few more manis will come from each bottle!

First up, we have the polish I've wanted but had not existed - a dark grey creme called U Rock & I Roll. It's what Rescue Beauty Lounge Stormy wanted to be but was a little too timid to be, for one third the price. I'm wearinging this one as I type...

Next up is VIP-Very Important Polish, which is actually a deep purple creme with microglitter in it. I don't know that I've seen such a thing before, but it works on so many levels for me!

Now we have Glam Metal. It really looks like metal - a brownish grey, with many shades of shimmer to it. Just gorgeous!

Look at Rebel Red in You! It's what China Glaze Lubu Heels wanted to be, but fell shy of! The glitter is finer and the polish is blacker and opaque, and I think I'm in love!

Let's go to The After After Party, Dear Reader! This blue is just a little bit brighter than my beloved Wet N Wild Sexy Siren, and I might just have a new favorite blue shimmer (Sally Hansen's Navy Baby will always have a special place in my heart, though...).

Last but not least is Party Like A Rockstar, a true bight yellow gold shimmer. It's much truer, brighter, and just *gold* than even my dear Chanel Gold Fiction. I love this gold!

Lippmann Collection Superstar

Hello, Dear Reader!

I actually have pictures for you today that are just plain nail polish - no Nfu-Oh over them, no Konad, just polish. But what a polish it is! It's one of Lippmann Collection's limited edition Fall offerings, Superstar. The pictures show two coats with two coats of top coat, but I'll definitely need a couple more layers of top coat on the morning to get it smooth.

Isn't that something? I like her!

In the Midnight Hour...

Hello, Dear Reader!

It's cheesy as heck, but since I now have the song stuck in my head, I thought I'd do a midnight post for NARS Rebel Yell. You can throw things at me now that you get it...

It's a great Fall color, but *way* too bland on its own. I think you know as well as I do what I did about that, Dear Reader... Plate number M62. This is the pattern I most wanted the plate for, but was afraid to use it because it's such a strong design and has such a clear center to it, but I figured out how to work with that and it was easy to apply. Here she is!

I'm thrilled with the results, and glad I finished it in time for a midnight post. If I'm going to have Rebel Yell stuck in my head, I'd like to share that with you, Dear Reader... There's one comment that I think would be hilarious in reply to this post, but obviously, I can't be the one to make it... I hope you do, Dear Reader!

Lippmann Collection Maneater... My Way!

Good morning, Dear Reader!

Yesterday I received some of the new Lippmann Collection polishes, and broke into Maneater last night. It's a rich deep brown, almost black in three coats, with an amazing shine. I used my Lippmann Addicted to Speed over it, despite my vow to save that tiny mini for travel, simply because it so good I could not resist. Check out the shine in the pictures, which were taken under a halogen light that's made to emulate natural light...

In this picture, you can see that in the bottle, Maneater is a lighter brown than three dry coats on the nail.

So that was Maneater, with which I'm quite pleased. However, it's a little plain for my taste as of late, and yesterday I also received some new Konad plates I'd ordered... You see where I'm going with this, don't you, Dear Reader? I chose my favorite new tip pattern, which is from plate m62, and used the gold Konad polish to make this mani a little more interesting, still keeping it somewhat understated and very Fall.

And despite my Number Two Fan's objections, I'm posting a close up picture of one nail to show the detail of the Konad pattern, although I made it a bit smaller. Keeping or losing this picture with future Konad posts will be a poll for us to do, so I can find out if this is a useful picture to readers other than my Number Two Fan.

The application of Maneater was the same as the other Lippmann Collection polishes I've tried - as smooth as can be, but requiring a third coat. The amazing shine it has made it well worth the extra effort, and with Lippmann's Addicted to Speed, there was no additional wait time for drying due to the third coat, so overall it's a huge hit with me.

I have a few more Lippmann Collection polishes to show you, Dear Reader, but they can wait for another day. Until then, love and nail polish to you!

Milani Art of Color Collection

Good morning again, Dear Reader!

I'm hiding out in the spare bedroom, ignoring the moving going on all around me. I finished the work I had to do early, which left me time to take advantage of a perfectly clear sky and swatch Milani's Art of Color Collection. That's right - another day, another collection! These are the ones I found at CVS on Tuesday when I scored the Sally Hansen Runways.

Here they are, each two coats, in the order of the rainbow...

This is one spectacular red...

Check out the amazing sparkle this one has in the sun!

This is really a three coater as I have a bit of VNL with two, but what a great yellow!

Another three coater, maybe even four, but a green unlike any of my others.

Blue! What a bright, vibrant blue!

And a fabulous purple to end the rainbow...

China Glaze Bahama Blues Collection

Good morning, Dear Reader!

I've got lots going this morning, so I'll be brief... I took the pictures by the light of the setting sun in front of a window, the best light I could get. Each shows two coats of polish, which applied really well for me. I'm a huge fan of China Glaze's new formula, probably becasue I do thin coats, but it's so pigmented that it only requires two thin coats.

I have a rave for Head2Toe (linked on the right) as well. I ordered these Tuesday, and have them in my hands on Wednesday. Not bad, huh?

I'll present these the only way to view this collection - in order of color depth.

I don't even need to say a word...

The shimmer on this is far more pronounced than it appears to be in the bottle, and I really like it.

This needs to be compared to RBL Dead Calm...

And this is the ultimate inky blue blue!

The Sally Hansen Salon Runway Collection is Mine!!!

Good afternoon, Dear Reader!

I decided to go out and enjoy this spectacular day, and what did I run into? The Sally Hansen collection that I've been stalking for weeks and weeks! I also ran into a Milani collection, but that's for another day...

I couldn't believe I finally came across these, and they are now mine! Even better, the CVS had left an old "Buy One, Get One 50% Off" label on the display, and they honored it for me. How can you beat that? Happy Birthday to me...

There are too many that I love to rank them, so I'll just put them out in alphabetical order for you.

Having these in my hot little hands, I may be finished stalking drugstores for a while. Yay!

Success ACHIved, CHI Fall 2008 Collection

Good morning again, Dear Reader! The sky cleared, and I ran upstairs to get the sun while I could, and it held out for me. So now I can present to you CHI's Fall 2008 Collection, Success ACHIived!

I'll present the pictures in alphabetical order, simply because each of these is so wonderful I can't rank them. They applied beautifully over CHI base coat (which I like a lot), and each picture shows two coats in direct sunlight. They all have either the special CHI sparkle or updated frost that makes all of them fabulous.

First, we have Contract Claws, which is the sexiest of the bunch in my opinion. I love this color!

Second is MocaCHIno on the Go (that's how it's spelled on the label), which is a subdued base color with an amazing shimmer like that of CHI's Mistletoe Kisses.

Now we're up to Office Gossip, a dark red with a very nice shimmer.

Next up at bat we have Open Door Policy, a great slightly pinkish purple with a great shimmer.

Closing in on the the end of the bunch, we have Passionate for My Work, a light purple with the CHI updated frost. CHI's frost polishes do not remind me of 1983, and they absolutely glow.

Finally, we have She's Envious. Why, you ask, would a neutral have such a name? Look closely, Dear Reader, and you'll see that this one has some green in the shimmer!

Do you see why I couldn't pick a favorite? I've been dying to crack into these since they arrived! The only place I know of to get them is from sparkling*nails on ebay (that's a link to the listings of them). Although I've mentioned this seller before (and that I won't profit if you buy from her), one thing I don't think I've mentioned is that ships world wide, and that US and Canada get free shipping on orders over $100 (which is easy to do in her store, speaking from experience...).
