A Little Less Conversation, A Little More Action

Hey everyone- just thought I'd show the naughtier side of Valentine's Day today, since yesterday's nails were so sickeningly sweet (literally ;-P) Anyway, I know a favorite Valentine's Day pastime is doin' the naughty, and while I'm spending my day today in class, and watching episodes of Dexter from Season 1, I thought I'd do a tribute to everyone else's day. :-P

I used MAC Abalone Shell as a base, which is a great color to match my skintone, especially in natural light. For the corset color, I used China Glaze Salsa, and Zoya Raven applied with Konad Plate m57 for the fishnet overlay and black. For the cleavage on the thumb, I used Zoya Dea. and for the bra part, I used heart gems from a store called Chika Chika that was going out of business in the mall. :) Topped everything off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Happy Valentine's Day, kids!

Believe, Mandalay Ruby, & After Hours Konadicure

Good morning, Dear Reader!

I'm still out of town, still away from a computer, and wrote this for you before I left. I went through some recent pictures to find things I had not yet shown you, and I found a few good ones.

The first is Lippmann Collection's Believe, a wonderful silvery-gold sparkly shimmer.

Next is Orly's Mandalay Ruby, a great deep red creme from the Gems Collection.

I couldn't just leave a plain red plain though, Dear Reader - I think you know me better than that...

Admittedly, it's more than just a little cutesy, but that's the point. It supposed to be over the top - it made me laugh a little that way!

That brings us to our third, for which I used Color Club's After Hours as a base. It's a charcoal grey shimmer, and I've posted a picture of it by itself before so I didn't take a new one. This manicure was right when I started to become aware that I was beginning to tire of dark colors, but rather than start over with something else, I decided to salvage this manicure with a little pink shimmer Konad polish. This is the result - not my best ever, not my worst ever, but a nice mani.

That's all I have for you today, Dear Reader. I'm planning on coming home today, so if you have questions posted, I should be able to answer them this evening. Until tomorrow, love and nail polish to you!

Orly Golden Maharajah

Good morning, Dear Reader!

Today I have one from Orly's Gems collection for you, the brown shimmer called Golden Maharajah. I included an old-style picture because it better shows the Cat's Eye quality that this polish has. Both pictures were taken in sunlight, and show two coats with a top coat (on a sunny day a while back...).

The crazy giant fake gem on the bottle is detachable (I just put it back on for the picture), so it doesn't get in the way during application.

That's it for now, Dear Reader. I'll have more for you later, and until then, love and nail polish!

Oh, and if you haven't cast your vote (if you have one) regarding the new layout, please do - just one day left to have your voice heard!

Let's Test Pictures...

The pictures in the last post were too small, so I picked some fun swatches to use as test subjects: Orly Star of Bombay and Orly Midnight Star, two of the new Gems Collection. Here they are:
